.PDP, APC, Labour Party At War With Campaign Council Chairmen

Political parties in Imo State are said to be in serious crisis after the House of Assembly Election conducted on Saturday 18th day of March 2023.

Our roving reporter observed that things have fallen apart in the major political parties namely Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, All Peoples Congress, APC, and Labour Party LP.

The party Leaders of the various parties as we gathered have started battling the campaign council chairmen over funds provided for logistics.

Leaders as we were told are vehemently accusing the Campaign Council Chairmen of playing against the rules during the elections, even supporting opposition parties adding that funds were not properly distributed.

The worst hit is Aboh Mbaise APC where it was reported that some party chieftains almost beat up the Campaign Council Chairman in one the political wards because of funds. The aggrieved leaders accused the Campaign Council Chairmen of not making use of the template provided for the distribution of funds meant for logistics.

Report has it that in one of the meetings held during the election the aggrieved members of the party allegedly caged the Campaign Council Chairman and threatened to lynch him if he dare refuse to release the funds provided for the election.

If not the quick intervention of some people, the chairman in question would have been dead now.

Others who also facing the same accusation of mismanagement of election funds are now said to be on the run as their lives are under serious threat.

Right now the centre can no longer hold in PDP because of the same problem of mismanagement of fund. This alleged embezzlement of funds has made party members to start thinking of carpet crossing to other parties any moment from now.

The same scenario was recorded in Labour Party, where a particular man was accused of pocketing entire campaign funds and disappeared.
