According to reports, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared 27 candidates of Imo State House of Assembly winners of the HOA election conducted on Saturday 18th March 2023.

The entire State Constituencies was won by APC lawmakers.

Meanwhile, the opposition parties particularly PDP and Labour Party in Imo State have continued to cry wolf after the March 18, alleging that they were robbed of their mandate.

In Owerri Municipal for instance, the loyalists of the Labour Party candidate (Hon Clinton Amadi) have reportedly refused to accept the declaration of the APC candidate, Hon Ugochukwu Obodo claiming that their candidate allegedly won the election.

A similar situation is equally playing out in Ahiazu Mbaise, Aboh Mbaise and Ezinihitte Mbaise were PDP faithful are alleging that their party candidates were clearly leading in their various LGA’s expressing disappointment and dismay with the declaration of APC candidates in the three Mbaise LGA’s including Ngor Okpala where according to them PDP usually holds way.

A similar scenario is playing out in Mbaitoli LGA where the incumbent House Member and PDP candidate, Okey Onyekanma has assured his supporters of reclaiming his mandate. He revealed of seeking redress in the Court.
