A dangerous snake said to be a python has reportedly wreaked serious havoc at the Secondary Education Management Board, Owerri Zone 1 office located at MCC/Uratta road Owerri.
The big snake is said to have mysteriously entered the premises and crept into the operational office where vital documents are kept.
Trumpeta gathered that workers of the Board noticed the snake when they came to work on Monday 13th of March 2023 to ascertain the level of damages on their collapsed roof which is said to have been orchestrated by the heavy down pure and wild wind over the weekend.
Those who first noticed the physical movement of the big snake raised alarm which created fear that made people at the place run away.
The snake as we observed took over the operating room of the zonal office even as the source of the snake was yet to be ascertained.
Our reporter who visited the place observed that apart from the havoc created by the presence of the big snake, the entire premises of the Board was now a danger Zone as it is not advisable for any person to stay in any of the buildings especially as the snake was not yet killed or taken away which poses a serious life threat to the staff.
Some Secondary Schools in Imo State are also suffering the same problem as we gathered. Wind and the heavy downpour are said to have damaged school properties in several parts of the state.
In many LGAs, school children in both primary and secondary schools are said they cannot study comfortably in classrooms due to leakages and collapsed roofs.
The Head Masters and Principals have submitted their reports but the government has continuously failed to act on those reports.
The most painful thing as we were told is that government no longer give running cost to schools.
