Ahead of the commencement of the 2023 NNL season, the Imo state Commissioner for Sports, Hon Emeka Okoronkwo has facilitated a Marque Signing for Heartland FC, Owerri.

Amanda FC’s Arum Chukwuebuka who has been a thorn in the flesh of many Owerri based sides including Heartland FC during this year’s Imo FA Cup quarter final encounter has been acquired by the Naze Millionaires
Negotiations according to reports hit a brick wall but the sports Commissioner, Hon Okoronkwo would not take no for an answer, a sources who revealed the deal said.
The soft-spoken administrator brokered the deal to seal the fate of the Imo State University undergraduate who peppered Heartland in times past.
The bulky but pacy forward, a tormentor in chief in the final third who leaves defenders in a heap is finally a Naze Millionaire .

Chief Executive Officer of Amanda FC, Mr Obinna Nwaneri thanked the Commissioner for his Wisdom in resolving the impasse.
“I want to thank the Commissioner for his intervention, there were Teams in the NPFL who wanted to get his Services but the intervention of Honourable Commissioner stopped the move. Money is important but it is not everything, The Governor didn’t make a mistake in appointing Emeka Okoronkwo, he is a good administrator who understands his Job”
In a related development, Heartland FC Owerri defeated her Youth team, Heartland Comets 2-1 on Sunday to qualify for the Imo FA Cup male final.
The five time Champions  had to come from behind after they conceded first in the fifth minute but showed character to come from behind to win by 2 goals to  one.

Heartland FC will tackle Fr Eburuaja FC for the title on Tuesday 14th March 2023 @ the Dan Anyiam Stadium.
