Fears Of  Orlu, Orsu, Oru East Constituencies Not Having Lawmakers Fades Away

.As Elections Holds in Trouble spots In  Imo

People of Oru East, Orlu and Orsu LGAs have cause to rejoice as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has assured of holding elections in their troubled areas in Saturday’s House of Assembly polls in Imo State.

Some parts of the mentioned councils have been in the news for bad reasons over persistent reports of killings, kidnappings and unknown gunmen activities fueling speculations that election may not hold in the affected areas due to insecurity.

The outbreak of unknown gunmen menace created fear of holding elections in the area especially after an outlawed sect in Igbo land was alleged to have called for no polls in the South East states.

But a glim of hope appeared for the three state constituencies following the decision of INEC to hold elections in these areas.

Prof Sylvia Agu, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Imo State disclosed that the commission would deploy both personnel and electoral materials to those areas during the state assembly election to be held on March 11th.

While requesting for the cooperation of all, she said that all arrangements are on ground for INEC to ensure elections hold in the affected areas.
