“One good turn, deserves another”. This was the case of the top flight contender for the Imo East (Owerri Zone) Senatorial seat in the forthcoming election, Rt. Hon. Barr. Uche Onyeagucha as he has continued to enjoy an overwhelming support of Owerri zone Constituents.
Following his undaunted antecedents and pedigree, Onyeagucha who will be in the ballot on Saturday, February 25, 2023 to slug it out with his co-contestants have endeared himself to the heart of all and sundry.
Apart from people of his Imo East Senatorial District, other Imolites have joined the train in endorsing his 2023 political ambition.
Onyeagucha, who diligently and conscientiously served as the Secretary to the Government of Imo State in the Rebuild Imo Administration of Governor Emeka Ihedioha has further bagged an implicit vote of confidence.
He has been described as an eagle, a round peg in a round hole with the requisite qualifications to represent Owerri zone in the red Chamber of the National Assembly (Senate).
Arising from an extraordinary meeting of the Ohaneze Ndigbo in United Kingdom, the group x-rayed the character disposition, capacity and experience of all the Senatorial Candidates in Owerri zone and unanimously resolved that Hon. Onyeagucha is the best among them.
In his reaction, the leader of the group who is also the Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo UK, Chief Benmark Osuigwe thanked the people for their decision and choice of adopting Onyeagucha for Senate. He noted that the decision of the group was based on a critical and unbiased assessment of the Candidates irrespective of their political party affiliation. “We took an unbiased and critical assessment of all the Senatorial Candidates in Owerri zone for the forthcoming election. We took into consideration their capacities in delivering results, character disposition, accessibility, experience and knowledge and unanimously resolved that Uche Onyeagocha is the best choice for us. He is what the people of Owerri zone need now at the senate. He is very courageous, fearless and accessible. These qualities distinguished him from other Candidates. We have confidence in his capacity and ability. We therefore call on all the people of Owerri zone to mobilize support across the zone and deliver him in the coming election”.
The group is made up of professionals from the nine local Governments of Owerri zone living in the United Kingdom.
In more endorsement message made available to Journalists, prominent Imo citizens resident in the UK and across Europe, have vowed to not only ensure that Onyeagucha wins the polls, but would not relent in joining all the activities, campaigns, moral and physical supports to make it a reality.
Writing from London, Nze Chukwunyere Amaechi and Pastor Chukwuma Amadi, confirmed their endorsement on behalf of the Imo State community in London, saying, “we make this public declaration of support to Rt Hon Uche Onyeagucha as our preferred candidate to be elected to the office of Senator representing Imo East senatorial zone.
“Few days before the presidential and National Assembly election, we join in strong support of recent endorsement from the Imo State Diaspora community led by Dr Uche Bonny-Life Ndu to announce our full and unavoidable support to elect Rt Hon Uche Onyeagucha as our senator. As a true Democrat, it is our hope that his exemplary character and leadership in his past public service will resonate with him once again as the new Senator representing Imo East. His courage has been a lesson deeply learnt and Imo would benefit from it”.
Representing Belgium, Hon. V C Onaku and Hon. CY Ezemadu submitted that it is their intention to endorse one of the best candidates that ever came out to contest a political election in Imo state in the person of Rt Hon Uche Onyeagucha. According to the two leaders, the organizations of which we represent has continually valued qualitative representation from its inception and in its constitution has been non-partisan until now. Rt Hon Uche Onyeagucha ticks all the boxes and we will converge our resources to mobilize our people back home to vote massively for Onyeagucha and equally protect the votes”.
All the way from Germany, Hon. Abraham Amadi who is a titular head of Imo community in Germany expressed his endorsement of Onyeagucha primarily as a response to the new emerging social order of the Owerri zone demands for qualitative public service and representation.
Chief Chris Osuji from Spain alluded his endorsement of Onyeagucha to his exhibited moral courage of a high order and voluntarily expressed how Onyeagucha took an active and articulate stand for a just resolution during the last Governorship election in Imo State. He expressed hope that Rt Hon Uche Onyeagucha will remain consistent and resolute in the Senate representing Imo East Senatorial Zone. He concluded that the People of Imo East deserve rapid change of direction and for the fierce urgency of now, a new paradigm is necessary and Rt Hon Uche Onyeagucha is the candidate endorsed to usher in proper legislative standards of humanity and justice in Imo East senatorial zone.
Imolites abroad didn’t forget to add that their primary concern is ensuring that right persons emerge, devoid of religious or political affiliation.
To Ndi Owerri zone, they were admonished to take the bull by the horn by casting their votes appropriately, shunning vote inducement items and gifts, for the overall interest of the place.
They also expressed optimism that Onyeagucha being a man loved by many possesses those rare qualities which are lacking among his rivals, hence the endorsement.
