Imo Guber  2019 Re-echoes, As US Govt Refuses Judges Who Handled Ihedioha, Uzodinma Case Visa

Indications are that the Government of the United States, of America, USA has denied visas to the Judges who handled the Imo State Governorship Supreme Court judgment three years ago.

This followed a pervious warning from USA that it would hence forth not open her borders to those whose acts in office or business are inimical to deepening of democracy in Nigeria.

A news report quoting a popular online Newspaper said that the Justices of the Supreme Court who handled the Imo Governorship case were denied visas.

However, their Aides were given Visas, and had arrived USA without their Bosses.

They Judges were said to be on their way to USA for a seminar and workshop.

The Imo Governorship Election Panel headed by the former Chief Justice of Nigeria Ibrahim Tanko on January 14, 2020 nullified the Imo Governorship election, after the Peoples Democratic Party’s , Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha had spent seven months in office having been declared winner of the contest by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The Panel had on Jan 14, 2020 declared the candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC, Chief Hope Uzodinma, who came forth as the winner, and remains in office till date.

Chief Uzodinma was the candidate of APC, the party which the Supreme Court had earlier ruled had no candidate, as Chief Uche Nwosu was disqualified for parading dual party ticket of Action Alliance AA, and APC.

A source in Abuja who spoke on the Visa issue directed our Reporter on who will confirm the story.

When contacted, the source neither denied nor confirmed the Visa story but rather said that “The issue of Imo Governorship has refused to go away more than three years after. What the minority judgment in that case stated is happening today. Pls, I am not competent to answer your question”.
