.New Perm Secs, Directors To Be Appointed Soon

Indications are that Imo State Government under the leadership of Distinguish Senator Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State is now set to release another “jumbo” package to civil servants.
According to findings by our reporter, Governor Uzodinma is said to have considered it necessary to give Imo workers double promotion.
However the promotion as Trumpeta gathered is specifically for the genuine workers who passed the verification test.
Our source revealed that the upcoming promotion will not favour everybody in the civil service rather consideration will be given to genuine workers who have employment records and with verified certificates and not those who are fake workers.
Trumpeta further learnt that lists are being complied at various ministries, agencies and parastatal for this promotion.
Further information indicates that some civil servants in Imo State will get single promotion while others will get double promotion.
The source also revealed information that those who are not genuine workers will enter into serious trouble because they will be treated as illegal staff.
Meanwhile, reports from grapevine suggest that all fake workers will be prosecuted without delay. The governor from all indication wants to put smile on the faces of Imo workers. It could be recalled that early last year, Uzodinma announced that he is going to promote all workers. Therefore, he embarked on verification exercise to screen all workers in Imo State.
Towards the ember months, he directed that genuine workers should be promoted with immediate effect. Moreover, he ordered that the December salary should reflect the new grade. Surprisingly, the directives and order of the governor on the promotion issue is yet to be carried out by the top civil servants. The Governor as we learnt is not happy with this development.
It could be recalled also that the last promotion was in 2014 and some workers who are due for promotion since then are supposed to have been promoted twice before now.
It is most likely that those who were employed before Owelle Rochas Okorocha came into power as Governor of Imo State could to get double promotion while workers employed during the Rescue Mission era led by the then governor of Imo State, Owelle Okorocha was in power may just get one promotion.
We were told that those handling the promotion issue have been ordered to expedite action or be sanctioned for delay in discharging their duties.
The workers are reportedly anxiously awaiting their promotions. The governor as we also gathered is set to announce new Perm Secs and Directors.
Report has it many old directives, Perm Secs and top civil servants will retire this February 2023 for new officers to come.
Concerned Imolites already have advised the Governor not to give extension to any retired worker again.
