Team Imo on Tuesday were defeated by team Ondo 3-1 in the semi-final of the ongoing 18th National sports festival (NSF) in Lagos.

The battle for supremacy between the two teams lasted for one hour and 15 minutes in the volley ball court at the Teslim Balogun stadium.

Team Ondo will therefore lock horns with hosts Team Lagos, in the final, scheduled for 6 December.

The head coach of team Imo, Uche Ugbonna expressed his disappointment at his team’s feature to failure in the finals.

He complained that his team got derailed by over confidence, which ruined the team’s chances of playing in the final.

Team Imo will now vie for the third place position with team Rivers for the bronze medal.

Meanwhile, reports reaching Imo Trumpeta also  indicates that the Abula, Hockey and cricket teams from Imo have all crashed out of medal positions in their respective events.

The state before the commencement of the festival games had high hopes of picking medals from the team events such as Abula, volleyball and the Hockey game.

However, reports also do have it that Imo had as at Tuesday garnered 3 gold’s, 5silver and 10 Bronze medals, and more is still being expected as the games enters its 10th day today.
