3. Two pairs of Muhammed Ali’s fight-worn boxing gloves, one of which he wore in a 1964 fight against Sonny Liston and the other in a 1971 loss to Joe Frazier, went for a combined 500,000 British pounds in anction.

The estate of Angelo Dundee, the legendary ex-heavy weight champion’s trainer, sold the gloves to an anonymous bidder along with other memorabilia following the legendary trainers death earlier this year at the age of 90.

Part of the proceeds of the memorabilia sale, which raised over 800,000 in total, will benefit the Muhammed Ali foundation.

Another portion will go for the care of Dundee’s daughter, Terri, who suffers from multiple sclerosis.

4. Meanwhile Boxing legend Muhammed Ali has been crowned the “King of Boxing” at the World Boxing Council’s 50th annual convention in Mexico.

The 70-year old, who has suffered from parkinson’s disease for several years was joined by his wife Lomie who said the items would be exhibited at the Muhammed Ali centre in his hometown of Louisville in Kentncky.

Current WBC champion Ladimond Klischko had the privilege of placing the crown on the legends head.
