Tension In Owerri Over Arrest of Suspected Criminals Under Egbeade/Amakohia Bridge

Air of uncertainty is reigning in Imo State, especially, Owerri, the State capital following the arrest of six suspects believed to be criminals.

Residents were stunned on Thursday when security operatives stormed the Egbeada/Amakohia flyover bridge near the Owerri Metropolis to arrest about six male suspects believed to be Northerners.

Trumpeta learnt that based on credible information about the activities of some elements who inhabit under the bridge and commit criminal activities, security operatives stormed the location to effect the arrest.

A video clip circulating in the social media showed the police in the area affecting the arrest while residents reported about their nefarious activities.

Our correspondent learnt that fear has gripped the residents who are scared about the presence of the suspected criminals who are from the Northern part of the country.

The police spokesman for the state command could not be reached for comments.
