The University of Nigeria Alumni Association (UNAA) Owerri Branch has conferred a sole Anniversary Special Award on the Managing Director CEO, ABC Transport, Mr Frank Nneji.
The award conferement took place on the occasion of the 52nd Founders’ Day Anniversary celebration and launching of 500 million naira Alumni centre and bus project fund in Owerri.
In her address, the President, UNAA Owerri Branch, Lady Doris Okoroh described Mr Nneji as a distinguished lion who was a Director for Transport during his days in the university as a student pointing out that he has maintained, sustained and excelled to an enviable and unbearable level within Nigeria and the whole of Africa in the area of load transport.
Lady Okoroh who revealed that the university was founded to distinctively help Africa become over night, a continent of light stressed that this has been greatly achieved by the dream of graduates it has produced since 1963, and disclosed that the association has witnessed increased membership and welfare of members.
She expressed regrets that the branch still faced with the problem of unemployment of its members and expressed the hope that the state government will allocate land to the association to achieve its dream of an alumni centre commending the infrastructural development of the state.
Lady Okoroh appreciated the contributions of the patron of the association, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu who regularly released reasonable amount of money to run the affairs of the branch as well as the executive and members of the association and urged them to always reflect the university’s pledge in their words and actions.
In an interview with journalists after receiving the award, Mr Nneji attributed his great success to hardwork and commitment to his studies as a student and advised undergraduates to shun negative activities like cultism, exam malpractices, armed robbery among others and emulates his exemplary lifestyle in order to attain great heights in life.
