.As Uzodinma, Nwajiuba Display Power Play
The legendary political battle between two Brothers of Isiala Mbano LGA extraction, namely Ex –Governor Ikedi Ohakim and Senator Ifeanyi Araraume is billed to continue in the 2023 general elections.
According to impeccable sources, Ohakim and Araraume are interested in the Okigwe Senatorial Seat, but under different political platforms.
While Trumpeta can authoritatively report that Ohakim will run under the All Progressive Congress APC, it is not yet clear in which political party
Araraume will execute his own project. But whether Araraume will run is not in doubt.
Sources close to the Ishiebu born Araraume whispered to Trumpeta that the politician will within days make his choice of the political party to run for the position.
However, indications are that he will either pitch his tent in Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, where Chief Emmanuel Okewolonu had already picked form for the Senate, or head to All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, where he executed his 2019 Governorship ambition.
Trumpeta learnt that already, Ohakim is being lured into the race by his Old time friend and Ally, Gov Hope Uzodinma, whom sources said Ohakim also helped in 2011 to become a Senator. Therefore, it was learnt, it is now a pay-back time for Ohakim from his friend, Uzodinma.
Meanwhile, political pundits are saying that Ohakim may even find it difficult to pick the APC ticket, since the incumbent Okigwe Senator, Chief Frank Ibezim is still interested to go for his own tenure, as Ibezim believes that he only went to the Senate to complete Senator Benji Uwujamogu’s turn.
Trumpeta was also told that Ohakim may not get the ticket on a platter because the Minister of Education (State), Bar Emeka Nwajiuba who projected Ibezim and sold him to Uzodinma, will like Ibezim to continue in the Senate.
Under this scenario, pundits maintain that Emeka Nwajiuba and Hope Uzodinma will clash over who produces the Okigwe Senate candidate for APC in the 2023 general election.
While Nwajiuba goes for Ibezim, the Governor, Senator Uzodinma is banking on Ohakim.
With this situation, political Analysts predict that the Okigwe Senate ticket may be decided in Aso Rock, where Uzodinma and Nwajiuba will show who between them has the ears of the National Leader of APC, President Mohammadu Buhari.
