Normalcy Returns To OISA Sports Int’l Stadium, Okpala

Normalcy has returned to the first private-owned Sports Facility in Imo State, Onwubiko Sports International Academy OISA, Okpala in Ngor Okpala LGA, after the recent distraction during a Nigeria Nationwide League One game between host Kun Khalifa and Right To Win FC.

Following a investigations, it was gathered that protest started when players of Right To Win FC protested a penalty awarded to the host towards the end of the game.

Investigations further revealed that football fans from the host community invaded the pitch in protest with both verbal and fiscal altercation.

The incident according to reports led to few fans sustaining injuries as some were hospitalized.

When contacted, the CEO of NLO, Shola Ogunowo said the league body have received the report of the incident and will come out with its verdict soonest.

Ogunowo also frowned at the despicable attitude of the youths of the host community and called for the immediate arrest of the fans who perpetrated the mayhem.

However, the manager of the facility, Nkemjika Romanus said a peace meeting had been held between the host community and all relevant stakeholders involved in the use of the facility. He said the meeting was very productive with the host community promising to hold anyone trying to destroy the development in the area will be held responsible for their actions.

The community through their leader condemned such violent acts promising peace and orderliness for subsequent NLO games as well as to all teams assigned to play at OISA arena not forgetting the supporters and all stakeholders.

“Okpala is a village of peace and tend to keep to this history”, the Community leader noted
