Rising from her 2nd quarterly meeting for 2022, the Imo Football Association has announced arrangements for the formal inauguration of Imo Community Football to enhance the leather game at the grassroots.
The disclosure was announced in the communiqué issued at the end of the meeting signed by John Nwogu, and Comrade Emeka Nwokorie.
Chaired by the FA Chairman, Mazi Amanze Uchegbulam, the Executive Committee announced that arrangements were in top gear for the inauguration at the CAN hall and announced that they are working towards partnering with Bet king and My Radio FM for football grassroots development in the state.
The committee noted there are several talents in communities even as football unifies people and helps youths to acquire skills, and agreed to provide enabling atmosphere for community football to thrive.
The FA board expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev Eches Divine Eches for the provision of conducive environment for meetings.
The Imo FA Executive Committee maintained that the FA was saddled with the task of maintaining order during football matches and warned that stadium management should allow them to discharge their duties unhindered.
Meanwhile, they have commended the state Sports Commissioner, Dan Ogu, as well as the Welfare officer of Heartland FC, Mr Nnadi for their efforts to ensure the club fulfils her financial obligations even as it called for concerted efforts to clear outstanding arrears to the FA.
The committee commended the Organizing Committee Chairman who doubles as FA Vice Chairman, Barr. Ifeanyi Dike and members of the committee for working hard to ensure there was no recorded ugly incident during matches, especially with two teams in the 2021/2022 league season.
The FA marketing Consultant and his Think Tank Committee were commended for the good job done so far and were equaled urged to do more in attracting partners for the FA.
On the claims of abuse of the VIP stand, the Executive Committee has charged members not to abuse use of the stand, and obey all safety rules during matches.
Meanwhile, following refusal to attend reconciliation meetings, the FA has resolved to further peace moves between the Heartland football club and the Supporters Club (Columbia) as both have failed to honour the invitation from the peace committee.
In another development, the committee has approved the appointment of Casmir Mbachu as the acting Chairman of the Security Committee.
