Real Betis midfielder Nosa Igiebor has predicted a stiff competition for places on the Eagles Squad for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Igiebor who scored a wonder of a goal in the recent Venezuela friendly, therefore praised Coach Stephen Keshi for bringing back competition to the team.
“There would be serious fight for places in the Super Eagles. Everybody wants to be at the Nations Cup and the competition for places would be stiff”, Nosa stated.
However, Igiebor who has netted twice in his last four appearances for the Eagles has described the development as a healthy one for the national team.
Igiebor has been in a scintillating form for both club and country especially in the last AFCON qualifying game against Liberia in Calabar were he showed some good form of understanding with Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Ahmed Musa as Eagles destroyed the Lone Stars 6-1.
The Super Eagles will open a training camp in Abuja from December 17, with players from the domestic league before they fly out to Faro, Portugal, to intensify preparations for the Nations Cup in South Africa.
Nosa is currently playing his professional football for Real Betis of Spain, the former club of ex-Eagles International Finidi George. He is one of the under 23 team players that failed to make it to the last Olympic games in London under the tutelage of coach Austin Eguaveon.
