OKIGWE DIOCESAN PRIESTS BEAT ONUIMO ALL STARS IN NOVELTY MATCH ….AS Fr Ekeogu Marks 25Yrs Priestly Anniversary

As part of activities marking the 25th priestly Anniversary of Rev.Fr Dr John Ekeogu recently organized a football match between Okigwe Diocesan Priests and Onuimo All Stars.

The match was played at St Charles Catholic Station playground Ofeke Okwe in Onuimo LGA of Imo State.

The priest opened scoring of the encounter in the 13th minute of play but Maximus  Nnadi.All Stars continued to pressurize so as to level the goals, but missed scoring chance through number 4 jersey Davidson Nwokoro.

The Captain of the clergies team Rev Fr. Henry Obi made several saves, while the central defender for the All Stars, Emmanuel Okoli  displayed good performance. The match ended 1-0 in favour of the God servants as all efforts made to equalize met brick wall. 

Speaking to journalists at the end of the match, the organizer of the match and the Silver Jubilee celebrant Rev Fr.John Ekeogu said he chose the football competition as part of activities marking his 25th year silver jubilee celebration because of his passion for soccer.

He disclosed that he was the captain of his school team at the junior Seminary and also at Bigard the Senior Seminary adding that football gives him joy.

He further hinted that he played a little while in Germany but could not continue because of his priestly work.

The soccer loving Priest thanked both teams that played and expressed satisfaction with their performance.
