Governor Hope Uzodinmma’s desire to open up on what made him to challenge the result of the 2019 governorship election which the Supreme Court finally declared him winner has opened up can of worms in the political family of the number one citizen of Imo.
Uzodinmma in an interview granted to a national daily ( Daily Sun) to mark his 63rd birthday spoke on wide range of issues which also touched the 2019 election and why he went to court.
Moments after Trumpeta gave Supreme Court victory version attention in the last edition of the newspaper, reactions trailed the publication.
One of those who sent feedback on “2019 Imo Guber Again! How 388 Units Gave Me Victory in Supreme Court- Uzodinmma” claimed that after they allegedly testified before the Election Petition Tribunal that led to victory, nothing has come their way as benefit arising from the emergence of Uzodinmma as governor.
One of those who called in with claims; Engr Venantius Chijioke Iwuji alleged that after appearing as witness, they are yet to be recognized and pacified for efforts in the court victory.
In a reaction to Trumpeta, Iwuji who claims to be Ahiazu LGA Collation Agent of the APC in the Imo Governorship and House of Elections has this to say;
“I WAS THE AHIAZU MBAISE LGA COLLATION AGENT OF THE APC DURING THE 2019 IMO STATE GOVERNORSHIP AND HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS AND AS SUCH THE AHIAZU MBAISE LGA SOLE STAR WITNESS FOR APC AND SENATOR HOPE UZODINMA DURING THE 2019 IMO STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION TRIBUNAL.
“IAM THE CHIEF GROUP ADMINISTRATOR OF THE 2019 IMO STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION TRIBUNAL WITNESSES PLATFORM.
“I HEREBY CONFIRM THAT WHAT THE GOVERNOR SAID IS TRUE BUT IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT WHAT WE THOUGHT WILL BE UNDER HIS ADMINISTRATION IS NOT WHAT MOST OF US ARE OBSERVING.
“I DO NOT WISH TO BLAME THE GOVERNOR DIRECTLY BECAUSE I THINK IT COULD BE THE FAULT OF LACK OF INFORMATION TO THE GOVERNOR.
“WHEN THE CHIPS WERE DOWN,EVEN MOST OF HIS SHERRIFF GROUP WHEN HE WAS IN PDP DESERTED HIM BUT WE THE TRUE PARTY MEN STOOD BEHIND OUR PARTY.
“TODAY,MOST SAs,IMC Chairmen,IMC Members and Commissioners now blackmail and block us from getting our dividend from the Government we brought papper and salt to prepare.
“Up till now,out of the 54 witnesses made up of 27 LGA Collation Agents, ward Collation Agents and Police witnesses,most of us have not benefited anything from the Senator Hope Uzodinma led Imo State Government.
“Most of us did not get covid-19 palliatives,most of us did not get fertilizers,most of us did not get food vendors,most of us did not get the youth Empowerment grant programme,most of did not get Local Government Interim Management Committee appointment and most of us were excluded from the APC Congress list.
Most us were not even considered to make an input in any of the Imo State Government programme. If we can not benefit from the good governance of our Executive Governor,then the ancestors and God will be angry if we invoke their intervention.
“It is unfortunate that most of the Tribunal witnesses have not gotten anything from the Government they almost lost their lives working for during and after election.
“A worker deserves his wages so the 54 witnesses deserve their wages from the Governor.
“Without the 388 units defended by the 54 witnesses, Senator Hope Uzodinma would not have become the Governor of Imo State today.
“Please tell the Governor to offer all the 54 witnesses an appointment in a commission or Local Government or Board to make them happy”, he added.
