The Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) has released timetable for the elections into the offices of Chairman, Vice Chairman and Councilors in the twenty seven local government areas of the state, stated to hold on Saturday 12 March, 2022.
A release Trumpeta obtained said to be signed by the Chairman, ISIEC, Mrs Pauline Onyeka , stated that as part of the commission’s efforts to ensure a free and fair electoral process, the Commission has unveil the electoral guidelines for the elections to all political parties and the general public.
The Commission, requests all registered political parties wishing to participate in the forthcoming elections to inform ISIEC in writing date, time and venue of their primaries between 8th November to 8th December 2021.
The Commission also said the conducts of party primaries by political parties each will be supervised by ISIEC, informing that commencement of payment by candidates and presentation of none refundable deposit and presentation of bank tellers will commence between 8th November to 8th December,2021
ISIEC further said collection of ISIEC DF form 001 and 002, affidavit, personal particulars for candidate for elections will commence between 9th November – 23rd December 2021.
The Commission said deadline for collection of ISIEC DF form 001 and 002, at ISIEC headquarters Orlu road Owerri is 10th January, 2022, while validation of documents of councillorship candidates by the commission shall hold between 12 January – 17 January 2022
ISIEC further said validation of documents of Chairmanship candidates by the commission shall hold between 19 January to 21 January 2022.
Validation of documents of Vice Chairmanship candidates by the commission shall hold between 19 January to 21 January 2022.
The commission further said delivery of lists of validated and invalidated candidate to political parties is slated for 24th January, 2022, while appeal and substitution of invalidated candidates is between 25 January – 28January ,2022.
ISIEC pointed out that the last date for substitution of withdrawal candidates by political parties and validation is 2nd February, 2022..
