Chelsea duo pulls out of Venezuela Friendly

 

The International friendly between Nigeria and Venzuela in Maimi, USA has suffered another blow as Chelsea stars Obi Mikel and Victor Moses have pulled out of the encounter.

 

According to reports gathered by ‘Imo Trumpeta’, the Eagles Coach Stephen Keshi, who’s side had earlier suffered an injury scare with Rennes defender Onyedikachi Apam took the withdrawal in good faith and has already named capable replacements.

 

Keshi disclosed that the duo had reasons for their decision, for instance, Mikel has family matters to settle bothering on his future as a father, following some domestic accidents.

 

Meanwhile, Bright Dike, who stars in the Major League Soccer MLS for TimberWolves Fc has already been invited to play in the position were Mikel would have played as Sharks of PortHarcourt winger, Gomo Onduka takes the place of Victor Moses.

 

All other players invited for the encounter have since confirmed their early arrival, even as the team jetted out on Sunday night via Delta Airlines for the game that comes up on Wednesday night in Florida, USA.

 

NFF president Aminu Maigari lead the delegation for the friendly trip, that kick starts Nigeria’s preparation for the 2013 Africa cup of Nations to be hosted in South Africa.

 

Nine home based players also made the trip with the foreign based expected to start arriving the Miami camp from Monday evening.
