The just concluded APC congress in Imo State has left a sour taste in the minds of the leadership of the party in Ikeduru who are presently pointing accusing fingers at Prince Charles Amadi otherwise known as Charlvon.
Reports reaching Trumpeta from the core leaders of the APC in Ikeduru have it that Charlvon is accused to have allegedly held a parallel congress against accepted rules and guidelines of the leadership of the area under the Deputy Governor, Prof Placid Njoku.
According to details from the leaders who are miffed by the so called activities of Charlvon, he was accused to have single handedly manufactured ward congress list of Excos from the parallel congress held in an unknown place in suspected coalition with the IMC chairman, Tony Iwuamadu!
Trumpeta further learnt that the attitude of Charlvon may not be unconnected to accusations that he had been in the past attempted to denigrate the office of the Deputy Governor, Prof Njoku who is the apex leader of Ikeduru LGA APC.
The said attitude of Charlvon according to the leaders is in contrast to the latest directive of Governor Hope Uzodinma for harmony and inclusions among party leaders in the LGA.
Prior to the Congress, the Deputy Governor, Prof. Placid Njoku has convoked a six- man leadership meeting in his house with Charvon present, but the IMC Chairman suspected to be Charvon’s protégé, was absent. Charvon was to swap the absentee role with his political understudy in a follow up meeting where it was agreed that each identified leader would be responsible for the congress in his/her ward.
The leaders of Ikeduru disclosed that in the party congress of Saturday July 31, 2021 which took place in all INEC designated wards of the LGA, was monitored by the DPO of Ikeduru LGA who was outside the state for official engagement, but was ably represented by the DCO. The DSS boss, and her NSCDC counterpart who monitored the exercise adjudged the exercise as free, fair and smooth in their respective reports.
The leaders said that it is this consensus, well adjudged results, the Deputy Governor submitted to party leadership in the state. But Chief Charles Amadi (Charvon), as usual, was alleged to have had other plans he wanted to execute.
Charlvon was accused to have dismissed the agreed arrangement under the leadership of Prof Njoku and others like Dr. Uzoma Obiyo, Rt Hon Kelechi Nwagwu to submit APC congress results for all the wards in Ikeduru LGA, covering the wards of every leader of the LGA, and that of the Deputy Governor.
The leaders are worried why Chief Charles Amadi, also known as Charlvon, should go about the much vaunted 2023 Federal House of Representatives aspiration of his son without recourse to decency, and respect by allegedly submitting a ward congress result he was believed to have raised four months ago in the confines of his sitting room.
From all indications, Charlvon would embark on head on collision and political battles against Prof. Placid Njoku, Dr. Uzoma Obiyo, Rt. Hon. Kelechi Kennedy Nwagwu, Hon. Ambassador Uche Ogbuagu, Hon. Chief Sam Aka, to mention but a few.
Trumpeta learnt that the respective ward leaders of Ikeduru LGA are watching, to see what would become of the ward congress results in their beloved LGA. This is even as they have resolved to proceed to court to challenge the charade of a result Charlvon is attempting to shovel into the party’s mouth.
The leaders are also of the view that Charlvon is on the move again to tear Ikeduru APC apart despite Governor Hope Uzodimma’s clarion call and express directive for unity and oneness. This latest attitude of Charvon which is an affront to other leaders in the LGA has rendered useless, the peace accord midwifed between him and Dr. Uzoma Obiyo by Senator Hope Uzodinma, leading to renewed rivalry which is detrimental to the political fortunes of APC in Ikeduru LGA of Imo State.
