PDP Warns Officials Against Coordinating Aspirants

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Imo State, on Wednesday, cautioned party officers at all levels from accepting to serve as Coordinators of any prospective or potential aspirant for any elective office in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Engr. Charles C. Ugwuh, Imo State PDP  Chairman gave this warning  at the meeting of the State Working Committee on Tuesday,  stressing that Party leaders, stakeholders, and members should not shunt and jump the gun on the way to 2023.
He reiterating that any party officer found involved in such anti-party conduct would be appropriately, constitutionally sanctioned.
The party Chairman urged prospective and potential aspirants to play by rules and regulations of the Party, and avoid acts and conducts that may be inimical to the sustainable progress of the Party, sternly and vehemently warning against the practice of subjecting Party officers, leaders and members to oath-taking for any reason whatsoever.
According to him,” as far as the 2023 general elections were concerned, there is no aspirant yet, because it is not yet time to call for interested Party leaders stakeholders and members to declare intentions as aspirants.”
“The Party has a workable schedule and timetable for the 2023 general elections, the State Chairman promised to ensure that at the right time a transparent level playing ground will provided for all interested prospective and potential aspirants to play politics.”
He, therefore, warned that the act of prospective and potential aspirants creating personal and private structures within the structures established by the Party, hosting all manners of meetings, and even administering oaths on party officers and perceived delegates, are gross anti-party activities that would attract severe sanctions against anybody found guilty of them.
Engr. Ugwuh commended the Party leaders, stakeholders, and members at all levels for the existing high level of unity, peace and progress in the Party,  urging them to continue doing the right things until the Party repeats the feat of 2019, by winning the 2023 general elections and returning to Government House.
He further advised that prospective or potential aspirants should desist from hosting discriminatory and selective meetings, whereby only few party officers and supposed delegates will be secretly invited, without the knowledge, approval or authorization of the relevant party authorities viz the Ward Chairman, the LGA Chairman, and the State Chairman as the case may be.
