The Internal crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC, Imo State chapter has deepened with followers of the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, and loyalists and faithfuls to the former Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma at each others jugular following the alleged suspension of Okorocha which later turned out to be false.
Trumpeta learnt that on Tuesday evening, a letter said to have been signed by the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) Secretary John James Akpanudoedehe flooded the Internet and other Social Media Platforms purporting that Okorocha had been sacked by APC.
The said letter elicited wide comments from various strata of the society, especially politicians who reacted to the letter.
However, it did not take long before the alleged suspension of Okorocha was denied in the Electronic Media, as Channel Television carried the story, without saying who signed the denial story, and from where the suspension news emanated in the first place.
Meanwhile, before the denial story could circulate, most of the followers of Governor Hope Uzodinma were seen jubilating over the said suspension of Okorocha.
Many of them who spoke to Trumpeta said that Okorocha had over-stayed his welcome in APC, and should move on and allow the party thrive in Imo State.
“Okorocha is causing problem in Imo APC because he has refused to accept Governor Hope Uzodinma as his Leader in the party.
When he was Governor, did anybody challenge him in Imo APC?” Trumpeta was asked.
Some of Uzodinma’s sacked Aides also expressed reservation that the suspension letter turned out to be fake as they made it clear that it would have better Okorocha left APC.
Meanwhile, Okorocha’s Chief Media Adviser, Sam Onwuemedo and his son inlaw, Chief Uche Nwosu have both made it clear that Okorocha has not been suspended from APC, as nobody can blackmail or force the former Governor out of APC he single handedly brought to Imo State.
According to sources from the APC National Secretariat Abuja, the party is not ready to jettison Okorocha out of APC for the sake of Uzodinma, saying that Uzodinma cannot carry the party to success alone, and will make peace between both men for Imo APC to move on with heavy followership.
