With the hands of the clock ticking towards the time for Governor Hope Uzodinma to announce the formation of a new Executive Council, those seeking for appointment into various cadres of offices have changed approach to get consideration.
Uzodinma sacked Commissioners two months ago and followed up with the dissolution of the State Executive Council where Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and other categories of appointees were removed from office.
Apparently aware that Uzodinma would re-appoint Commissioners and other aides to reconstitute the state Exco, those who were sacked, and others willing to be appointed are applying various tactics to attract the attention of the governor for consideration.
It would be recalled that Trumpeta had revealed how lobbyists moved to Abuja where they ambushed the governor to gain attention for appointment.
As if the Abuja move was not enough, this newspaper has also observed that there is rush in Government House, Owerri and other public places where the governor has been for public functions in recent times.
The latest human traffic around Uzodinma is attributed to inflow of appointment seekers who it was learnt have chosen to be noticed by the governor. Unlike in the past where Uzodinma moved without much crowd, recent events showed many have joined his convoy and programs. The crowd involves those sacked and wanting to come back plus others seeking consideration.
Another tactics, Trumpeta learnt, has been employed by the appointment seekers is the use of the social and conventional media to either drum support or attack political opponents.
It was noticed that sacked appointees who never used the social media to either canvass support or promote the 3R administration of Uzodinma suddenly became the governor’s spin doctors and e-goons in the social media. Trumpeta further gathered that promoting the governor and marketing the 3R government in the media could be the yardstick for one to be appointed or re-appointed.
Sacked appointees who never took part in the social media marketing while in office have changed to make it a duty to canvass support for Uzodinma.
