LGA Chairman Escapes Kidnappers Abduction In Imo

What would have added to the increasing spate of insecurity in Imo State was averted over the weekend owing to the “James-Bond” bravery of the Nwangele LGA IMC chairman as he narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt.
Trumpeta gathered from a source who refused to be quoted that the incident which was just like in the movies happened at Amaigbo in Nwangele LGA at about 3-4pm on Sunday.
The source disclosed that the IMC boss who was driving along with another passenger (names withheld) had his vehicle suddenly double crossed by an unidentified car with some men jumping down and brandishing their weapons at the unsuspecting LGA boss even as his friend managed to take to his heels for safety.
Luck however ran out on the suspected kidnappers who attempted to abduct their victim but couldn’t manipulate his vehicle which according to the source had entered central lock allowing the victim the time and opportunity to speed off.
The source further revealed that the hoodlums apparently taken unawares by their victims bravery short at his back tire only for him to divert towards an escape route and took to hills through a nearby bush escaping from his suspected abductors.
Attempt by Trumpeta to reach the victim however proved abortive but our source who narrated the ugly incident said the suspected kidnappers declined taking money from the LGA boss insisting they will make more money from ransome.
