2ND ANNIVERSARY: UCHE OGBUAGU ASSURES IKEDURU PEOPLE, PROMISES TO LEAVE LGA BETTER THAN HE MET IT
•AS COLLEAGUES CELEBRATE HIM
If there is one Local Government Area in Imo State that has been basking on an effective representation from the State House of Assembly member, it should definitely go to Ikeduru LGA.
Reason is that from the first day till date, the Lawmaker, Hon. Amb. Uche Ogbuagu has changed the Legislative narratives, and made it interesting from both the proper Law making, oversight functions, and above all, Constituency projects.
Irrespective of the manner he was ousted from the Majority Leader position, he remained steadfast in relaying with the people that gave him the mandate.
However, in celebration of his two years anniversary in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Uche Ogbuagu has described the visible successes recorded in his two years in office as being made possible by his absolute trust in God, and total resolve to serve his people selflessly and diligently.
Speaking from his country home in an interview made available to newsmen in Owerri, the ever smiling Legislator gave thanks to God for leading him through the stormy waters in the two years under review.
He explained that as Leader who cares for his people, he would always think outside the box in adding value to their living standard.
Reacting to the over 50 projects within 2 years, Ogbuagu opined that Ikeduru have not seen anything yet, that it will take him a lifetime to reciprocate the gesture they showed him during the electioneering campaign and election proper.
According to Hon. Ogbuagu, “It takes a servant Leader, who is goal oriented and passionate to make a difference in governance, instead of the business as usual syndrome, where the people’s lot is shared between a figurehead Leader and his cronies.
On the expectations from his constituents to do more, Ogbuagu said he will not leave any stone unturned in achieving a milestone and writing his name on the sands of time, having changed the narrative of representation in Ikeduru.
The Honourable Member called on all his constituents to lend their support to those in authority from the area, so as to encourage them to achieve more for the people.
Furthermore, he charged them, both at home and abroad to see themselves as partners in progress in the governance and government of the day, even as he encouraged constructive and objective criticisms from all the stakeholders (Ikeduru people), which includes all those who are eligible voters and not only owners of companies.
Commenting on the insecurity situation in the State, Hon. Ogbuagu tasked all the agencies saddled with the duty of restoring peace and security of the people not to offer them the other side of the coin.
Similarly, he charged both the State and Federal Governments to engage the agitators meaningfully and find a lasting solution to the breakdown of security, instead of brutal show of force.
Therefore, he declared that the remaining two years of his tenure will be eventful as he would leave Ikeduru better than he met it.
Meanwhile, Members of the State Legislature, across party lines have taken time to celebrate their Ikeduru Colleague, as they mark their second year in the parliament.
The Honorable members respectively sent across their warm felicitations and accolades, considering Ogbuagu’s eloquence, pedigree, jovialty, friendly nature.
Some of the Lawmakers include, Honorable; Eddy Obinna, Kennedy Ibe, Philip Ejiogu, Iheonukara Duru Johnson, Paschal Okolie, Collins Chiji, Obinna Okwara, Ngozi Obiefule, Dominic Ezerioha.

GO ABOUT YOUR NORMAL BUSINESSES, IMO ASSEMBLY ASSURES YOUTHS
Youths of Imo State have been urged not to be afraid of the presence of security operatives across the State.
This charge was made by the Imo State House of Assembly, while addressing the state of affairs and insecurity ravaging the nook and cranny of Imo.
It could be recalled that of late, youths of Imo State, and by extension, the public developed fear of seeing people on security outfits, either the army or the police.
Reason may not be unconnected to the reported cases of incessant killings and arrests of citizens, suspected by the security agents to be members of the terrorizing ‘unknown gunmen’.
Unfortunately, many have been sent to their early graves by stray bullets from either the army or police, hence, the seeming fear.
Meanwhile, calming all frayed nerves, the State Lawmakers have called on all law abiding citizens of the State to go about their legitimate businesses, and not to be afraid of the presence of security agents in the State.
“Assembly likewise calls on the law abiding citizens of the state not to be afraid of the presence of security agents in the state, but go about their normal legitimate businesses, because it is for their protection and safety that the government requested for more security agents to be brought in to augment the ones we have in the state already towards having an all-round protection for our people”.
The press release signed by the House Committee Chairman on Information, Hon. Johnson Iheonukara Duru, and obtained by Trumpeta Assembly Vibes further reads, “We call on Imo youths not to be discouraged by the insecurity in our State, but to remain resolute in their support of the efforts of government to ensure peace and tranquility in no distant time, also appealing to them not to be involved in any action that could cause any disaffection between them and the security agents deployed for their protection”.
