Tough time awaits commercial vehicle drivers in Imo State, as the state government is set to commence enforcement of the painting of the blue-white-red state colours on commercial vehicles within 14 days from 8th June, 2021.
Recall that in 2018, the former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha’s administration subjected the commercial drivers in the state to similar excruciating pains, three years after they are about going through the same process.
A statement signed by S.A, Special Duties to the Governor, Chinasa Nwaneri directed commercial bus drivers, to go to the Ministry of Transport to undertake “data capture and compliance with uniformed taxi colour for Imo State commercial vehicles.
The statement stated that the colour codes are: “Blue colour code 3011, to be painted down, white colour code 797 to be painted up, Red colour code 555 to be painted as two red lines running from the boot to the bonnet”
According to the statement “the above colour and design is the approved colour for commercial vehicles in the State and there will be strict enforcement with penalty.”
“Commercial vehicles are enjoined to comply within this notice within 14 days from 8th June, 2021.”
“This is to check the security situation in the State” the statement concluded.
