Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo has now turned a new leaf by preaching the message of peace, unity and reconciliation to all group and members of All Progressive Congress APC.
The Governor as we gathered has planned to unite all the APC factions in Imo State before the party’s congress coming up in three weeks time at the Ward, Local and State levels.
Uzodinma who was poetic and dramatic in his speech during the meeting he held with Leaders of the party from various LGAs, under scored the importance of community participation in the management of security challenges and tackling of criminality in the state.
Our source hinted that because of his quest for peace and unity in Imo, the Governor resolved to hold interactions with various local government areas represented by Leaders at Federal, State, Local and Ward levels at the Government House Owerri.
After his peace and reconciliation talk, the Governor disclosed that in three weeks time the party (APC) will be conducting an all inclusive, free and fair congress which will be held from Ward, LGA and State levels in which no interest will be excluded.
He submitted that there was need to include everybody in the congress. “Everybody who is an APC member must be included in order to build a strong party” Uzodinma said.
While interacting with Leaders of Ezinihitte LGA on Friday 29th day of May 2021, the Governor also said that government will not sink resource in building, infrastructures like court, police stations and other amenities only for them to be burned down, then expect government to rebuild them with lean resources that can be put to other areas.
The Governor however assured the leaders that all legitimate infrastructural deficits in various communities will be addressed as much as available State resources will allow, adding that Federal government assistance will be sought for where needed. He promised to give priority attention the Ezinihitte council headquarters that was destroyed during the ENDSARS protest few months ago.
He further said that it is important for Imo State to remain in the ruling party (APC) in order to attract more developmental projects.
The LGA leaders in their vote of thanks praised the governor for the giant strides he has recorded so far adding that they will all reciprocate to his good gestures by giving him full support needed to succeed in office.
