The Host Communities to the Federal University of Technology (FUTO) Owerri , yesterday trouped out in their numbers to protest the incessant ploy by the institution to take away the Federal Government approved excised FUTO Land that has been given back to the host Communities.
And to wade off any form of encroachment on the said land that was acquired by the Federal Government in the 80″s for the institution .
Addressing Newsmen during the peaceful protest which took place at the Aroche New Town excised land ,one of the Youth Leaders ,Comrade Clarkson Ekeopara stated that ‘”it is disheartening that FUTO is trying to cause confusion ,chaos and distrust amongst his people by jettisoning the already agreed arrangement in terms of excision of their ancestral lands back to them.
He also accused FUTO of dealing with people of questionable character to dispose them of their ancestral land” chief Sam Anokam remains our Attorney in relation to FUTO Land matters, he has been at the fore front of the battle for several years .We are comfortable with him”
Lending their voices ,the Chairman Mboke Welfare
Association, lchie Lawrenceville Nwaneri, Messrs Henry Eziefula and Emmanuel Nkwopara all maintained that the institution did not pay any comparison on the said land .And that the likes of Stanley Anyanwu, Anthony Anuforo and China Nnadi are not the host Communities’ representatives neither are they championing the cause of the community .”they are conniving with FUTO to rob them of their ancestral lands and also enrich their pockets as well.
