Tuesday May 11, 2021 has been set aside by the management, technical crew and players of Imo Angels FC as they prepare for the birthday celebration of their Chief Executive Officer CEO, and Club President, Lady Jenny Anusiem.
Speaking to Trumpeta Sports Desk on preparations for the upcoming event, the club’s General Manager, Mr Chuks Dike said the date will equally be used to officially welcome the victorious team who triumphed at Sango Ota in Ogun state during this seasons Queens 8 Teams Female Invitational Tournament.
Dike who is also an ex -international said part of the activities lined up to mark the birth date of the club’s CEO is to interface/felicitate with parents/guidance of the players which is aimed at establishing a positive bond among all the stakeholders of the team.
“We are trying to celebrate a Lady who is passionate with ensuring that the “Girl Child” is empowered through sports, especially football.
“We therefore also with to use this medium to invite all our Super Supporters, well wishers and fans of the club to join us in celebrating an “Amazon” as well as giving the victorious Imo Angels FC players a resounding welcome.
“Highlight of the Tuesday event is a novelty game between ‘Team CEO vs Team Management to entertain the guests in celebrating their mentor and President.
“The club is also planning the official launching/presentation of the victorious team to the public for appreciation sometime after the visit to Her Excellency the Imo State First Lady/Wife of the state Governor, Barr (Mrs) Chioma Uzodinma in a yet to named date,” the GM noted.
He further stated that the team Imo Angels FC is not just all about training and producing football talents that will in the near future become professional footballers but also to mould the girls into worthy ambassadors of their various homes and the society at large ensuring that they take their academics and other skill acquisition serious in readiness for life after football.
