Imo state born world para athletic champion, Nwaozuzu Chituru Grace has expressed optimism of having a colourful outing at the forthcoming National Sports Festival tagged “Edo 2020” which is expected to kick start this Friday.
Speaking to Trumpeta sports desk on Tuesday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri during her training session ahead of the states departure for the national event where she will compet alongside other selected athletes, “The Champ” as she is fondly called said she is in high spirit especially haven returned recently from Tunisia where she emerged world champion at the World Para Athletic championship thus qualifying for the 2021 Paralympic games at Japan later next year.
The multi talented athlete who is equally a single & doubles champion in the ITF wheelchair tennis 2019 as well as champion at the CBN Open championship is Nigeria’s Number 1 both in para athletic and wheelchair tennis.
She said; “I am very ready to go to Edo and come back with more medals.
“All I need is that motivation from the government which am sure we will get and we will return with laurels”, the world para athletic champion expressed.
