Governor, Hope Uzodinma and his predecessor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha may likely clash again in the political field if the desires of the aides of the first citizen of Imo work out.
A replay of the 2019 governorship election in Imo State may be witnessed in 2023 at the national level if Uzodinma caves into the permutations of some of his appointees who have started asking him to offer himself for the 2021Presidential bid.
Already, former governor of the state and now Senator Representing Orlu zone, Okorocha has not hidden his ambition to succeed Buhari in 2023.
Okorocha, Trumpeta observed has kick started the consultation for the Presidential ambition by forming support groups and raising structures across the country.
While it is not in doubt about Okorocha’s ambition, notable aides of Uzodinma have started the clamour for him to make up his mind for the top most political post in Nigeria.
Trumpeta recalls that Imo State was turned into a theatre of political drama when Uzodinma and Okorocha battled for the soul of APC and the party’s governorship ticket for 2019 election.
While Okorocha wanted his son in-law, Chief Uche Nwosu as successor by all means, Uzodinma objected and presented himself for the race which led to supremacy war.
With 2023 election two years ahead with interested bidders still playing underground for their interests, Uzodinma and Okorocha will clash in 2023 if both activate their desires to become Nigeria’s next President.
One of Uzodinma’s Commissioners, Dr Fabian Ihekweme in a social media post highlighted about Uzodinma’s 2023 ambition when he posted about the likelihood of a politician from Imo becoming next President.
