There is serious tension now in Government House Owerri , Imo State following the rumour around that Governor Hope Uzodinma will dissolve his Cabinet any moment from now.
Our source revealed that the Governor will likely bring in new hands and drop some of the old ones who were unable to impress him.
Likely to be dropped in the mega shake up include, Commissioners incharge of Health, Culture and Tourism, Finance Commissioner while Commissioner for Environment may be redeployed.
Another Commissioner likely to go due to popular demand is the Commissioner incharge of Women Affairs.
It is most likely that some Special Advisers will be dropped completely from the Cabinet because of poor performance.
After one year in office, the government appointees have presented their score cards in office and from all indications only very few did well in the assessment.
Clash of duties was visible coupled with other alleged irregularities that took place which made the Governor to consider it necessary to shake up his cabinet for things to work well.
This time, Imo first eleven will be considered as Commissioners and Special Advisers.
Some of the appointees who have already gotten the signals have started adjusting for the shocking blow. For now, not all the appointees are in Imo State.
Further information revealed that Governor Hope Uzodinma will accommodate politicians who recently cape crossed from the opposition camp to join APC.
Some few members of the Rescue Mission are likely going to be part of the Shared Prosperity government as we gathered.
As part of the downsizing programme, some Ministries are going to be merged and this will reduce the number of Commissioners and staff
Consequently reduction in the cost of governance and wage bill will be achieved.
Information further revealed that about six Commissioners that received N15m Fund for the upgrading of their ministries are now likely going to be in serious trouble for not utilizing the funds effectively as directed by the governor.
Uptill now, more than three 3 Commissioners still stay in one Block at the State Secretariat.
After receiving enough funds to get a conducive accommodation for office work, many Commissioners still want to make their workers uncomfortable by squeezing workers and equipments in a very small places.
