Okorocha’s APC Faction Shuns Party Revalidation Exercise In Imo

The ongoing membership re-validation exercise of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has further polarized the party in Imo state, Trumpeta can confidently report.
In a bid to reorganize and restrategize the ruling party in the country,  the National Caretaker committee embarked on Membership Revalidation Exercise nationwide.
In Imo, Trumpeta noticed it has turned sour for some party faithful as a major group in the fold, loyal to former governor Rochas Okorocha, appears to have backed out from the current party program.
As the party in the state intensifies arrangements for the exercise, it was discovered that those loyal to Okorocha were not involved.
Recall that the Okorocha group still believe in the out of favour state Exco leadership under Dan Nwafor while the caretaker chairman is Prince Marcon Nlemigbo.
Trumpeta noticed that at the opening session of the registration program for South East marked by Senator Hope Uzodinma of Imo State in Owerri, Okorocha who is APC Senator for Orlu Zone was not sighted near the event likewise his followers.
Since the program has also gotten underway this newspaper investigation reveals that non of the allies of the former governor has shown interest.
Further to the nonchalant approach of the Okorocha men is a reported claim of Nwafor that his Exco has filed a suit against the party.
Nwafor was quoted to have said that it can’t be part of Revalidation Exercise when his Exco is not in charge adding that any program which his leadership fails to handle will be illegal act.
Trumpeta further gathered that since the national office didn’t consider the Okorocha backed Exco take charge, their camp members shall not take part in the Membership Revalidation.
