Ohaneze Crisis Deepens As Factional President Orders Closure of National Secretariat, Enugu Says Obiozor Chairman of Elders Council

The factional President General of Igbo Socio-cultural Organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Engr Chidi Ibe has ordered that National Secretariat of the Organization located in Enugu, Enugu State to be shut down.

Ibe who led his own Factional Executive on a tour of facilities in the office said that the one secretariat though completed, needs to be furnished with furniture and electronic appliances to make the place functional.

Ibe who claimed to be the authentic President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo maintained that the Body is poised to bring all Ndigbo together, pointing out that there is no other President General of Ohaneze  Ndigbo except, adding that he visited the National Secretariat of the Organization to have a first-hand inspection of the  appliances  there that needed to be brought in to equip the place so that he can move in a begin work immediately.

Ibe said that already his own faction has finalized arrangement to provide scholarship to one hundred children from each of the communities in Igboland to University level, and assured that the forms would be out next week, for free to those interested.

Told that Ambassador George Obiozor is the recognized President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ibe retorted that Chief Obiozor is the chairman of the Elders Council and not President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo.

However, it would be recalled that the National Headquarter of Ohaneze which is located in Enugu, is being constructed by a former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha as part of his personal contribution to Ohaneze Ndigbo and Igbo at large.

Meanwhile, Ambassador George Obiozor was elected as the Ohaneze President at Grasshopper Stadium, Owerri, attended by Southeast Governors.

However, since then, Ibe has been calling himself the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
