The whereabouts of the Auxillary Bishop of the Owerri Catholic Diocese, Most Rev Moses Chikwe has been unknown since yesterday he went out.

On Monday, reports emerged from the Church that he has been kidnapped.

A post by a Catholic priest who is a functionary in Assumpta Cathedral, the domain of the Catholic Church in Owerri in one of the wassap platforms gave out the information that the cleric is in the hands of kidnappers who may have made contacts that Bishop Chikwe is in their dungeon for ransome before release.

The post by the priest who is also an authoritative source in the Owerri Archdiocese reads “All parishioners are expected to pray for the release of our Auxillary Bishop Most Rev Moses Chikwe that was kidnaped yesterday ( Sunday)”

Chikwe who was consecrated Auxillary Bishop was brought in as assistant to ageing Archbishop of Owerri Archdiocese, Archbishop AJV Obinna, due for retirement any moment now.
