PDP Blasts Iwuanyanwu 2023 Guber Election Comment .Says “Party Disappointed With BOT Member”

Chairman Champion Newspapers, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Owerri Zone chapter, Imo State has attacked Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, over comments linked to him regarding the 2023 Imo Governorship election.
In a release from PDP Owerri Zone, signed by the Secretary, Hon Kizzito Onuoha, the party regretted that Chief Iwuanyanwu, a Board of Trustee BoT member of the party, could make inflammatory statements that not only ridicules his high office in the party, but raises tension in Owerri political Block of Imo State.
The party said that Iwuanyanwu during a reception hosted by All Progressive Congress APC Owerri Zone for Governor Hope Uzodinma, said that Owerri people will vote for Uzodinma as their Governorship candidate in 2023.
“The attention of Imo PDP, Owerri Zone has been drawn to the recent statement made by Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu during the misplaced reception of Governor Hope Uzodinma by a group of job seekers in cahoots with few loquacious sycophants in Owerri Zone wherein he said that the people of Owerri Zone have adopted Hope Uzodinma as their Governorship candidate come 2023” the Press Release read in part.
The party said that much as Iwuanyanwu has the right to express his opinion, he should stop making a mockery of his position as a BOT member of PDP, since his current political posturing is not in tandem with a card carrying member of PDP.
The party described as moon light tale, Iwuanyanwu’s statement that Owerri people will vote for Uzodinma in 2023, when the people of Owerri are still reeking with anger over the marginalization they face in Imo polity that has denied them producing a Governor since the inception of the present political dispensation in 1999.
“PDP Owerri zone wish to state in very strong terms that Iwuanyanwu’s song of sycophancy is not only a figment of his own imagination packaged to massage Hope Uzodinma’s ego, but also an unprovoked slap on the face of Ndi Owerri Zone who have been unjustifiably denied the right of governing the State in the twenty one year of the current political dispensation” the party said.
Owerri Zone PDP therefore distanced its members from the Iwuanyanwu statement “ as it does not represent our position, vision, interest and wish to state in very clear terms that Owerri Zone is focused and determined more than ever before to ensure that the continued injustice meted to Owerri Zone is put to an end” the PDP maintained.
