Hon .Prince Lasbry Okafor Anyanwu ,Former Commissioner for Transport, Imo State has called on President Muhamadu Buhari and the Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, to immediately call Gov Hope Uzodinma of Imo State to order over alleged forceful invasion and seizure of properties running into half a billion naira.
Addressing journalists in Owerri yesterday Anyanwu, who is an unrepentant supporter of Senator Rochas Okorocha said his life is in danger as he doesn’t know the next thing that will happen to him.
The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, said Uzodinma action was politically motivated.
Narrating his ordeal , he said “about 6.30am this morning ,I received a call from my security man at my transport company, informing me of early morning invasion by more than 100 armed policemen, DSS, Army and some men seem to be tugs and hoodlums.”
“Men acting on the Governor of Imo State order came in a commando style forced their way into my personal office carted away over 20 Hummer busses without any notice or Court order.”
“They invaded MTN Mass Transport Network Co. Ltd, a company built with my hard earned money, harassed and chased away passengers that where already loaded from their vehicles preventing the vehicles from going out of the premises.”
“They recklessly took away over 20 vehicles belonging to MTN Mass Transport Network Co. Ltd with the toying vans which they came with. Chanting that they came on the order of the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma.”
“Till this minute, there is no court order to the best of my knowledge and nobody has invited me for any findings.”
And as we speak, my manager is in detention at the police Headquarters Owerri, Imo State .My life is in danger and I don’t know the next thing that will happen, only God can save me.”
We urge Mr President and the Inspector General, the press to come to my rescue. The IGP should act fast because Imo Police command is not supposed to be the governor’s puppets . This nefarious situation, which has heightened tension in the area should stop.
