Abuja Summons Uzodinma Over Okigwe Senate Election

The Imo North Senatorial Bye-election has changed dimension as the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma was summoned to the Seat of Power in Abuja, where he met President Mohammadu Buhari at Aso Rock Villa.
Trumpeta sources said that apart from other State matters that concern Imo State, the Governor was asked to show much interest in the Okigwe Zone election, and should support the candidate of All Progressive Congress, APC, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume.
However, it is yet to known if Uzodinma will obey the order from Above by joining the Araraume be campaign Train as the election comes up on Saturday, December 5, 2020.
Trumpeta learnt that from today, Uzodinma will mount the podium to speak for Araraume, after both men had worked from different angles in the contentious Okigwe Senate Election.
Before Uzodinma was summoned to Abuja, the Governor had remained quiet over the Okigwe Senate seat, as he had not attended any of the campaigns.
It would be recalled that Uzodinma and other APC top shots from Okigwe zone like Hon Emeka Nwajuiba, Chief Tony Chukwu, etc have been working for Chief Frank Ibezim to emerge not only as the APC candidate, but as the winner of the Senatorial election.
That the succeeded partially, by letting Frank Ibezim to win in the primary, but Araraume dislodged Ibezim in the court as Ibezim was said to have failed the screening exercise as attested by the APC Okigwe Senatorial Election Screening Committee.
However, there are stories making the rounds that Governor Uzodinma may simply be campaign for APC candidate, but his soul would be elsewhere because he does not personally believe in the Araraume Senate Project.
This Newspaper learnt that even if Uzodinma is coarsed to join the Araraume Train, some of his followers may still work for other candidates, as they already know that their Boss, the Governor is only joining Araraume through a “Presidential Fiat”.
Already, Senator Araraume has started speaking well of Governor Uzodinma’s administration lately, saying that he will join Uzodinma to lift Imo State out of its Economic quagmire.
