The initial flyier Imo State Government flew about using construction giant, Julius Berger for construction of roads in the state appears to be a ruse, if what occured on the Monday is considered.
Governor Hope Okorocha yesterday flagged off the construction of Owerri to Orlu and Owerri to Okigwe roads which is to be handled by Craneburg instead of the earlier advertised Julius Berger.
The state government had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Julius Berger construction for the study, design and construction which was much advertised to the public thereby generating applause from the masses.
But Trumpeta observed that the purported coming of Julius Berger has become a history with the coming of Craneburg.
The Owerri-Okigwe and the Owerri-Orlu roads are top critical infrastructures on which various developmental projects anchor on. This road has thrown residents and passersby into untold hardship and has painted the state in bad light.
The government’s resolve for quality reconstruction of the state, the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma engaged in a Memorandum of Understanding with Julius Berger Construction Company, Dumez and Craneburg Construction Company for study, design and construction of the road offering lasting built.
According to the state government, having completed the study and design, based on the procurement act, Craneburg was the most favorable to the state government for the construction of these roads under same condition of quality and durability.
CRANEBURG Construction Company, a foremost indigenous Engineering company with visibility across the length and breath of Nigeria has been contracted by the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for the construction of the Owerri-Okigwe and Owerri-Orlu roads.
Imo State government media states that “with the flag off and the mobilization to site, jubilation all over the state as more mobilizations would be witnessed in the days to come. Imo is now “Work in Progress” – all thanks to His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for his capacity and sagacity in reconstruction of Imo State.”
