The Imo state Commissioner for Sports, Youth and Social Development, Hon Dan Ogu yesterday flagged off the 2020 Imo FA Seminar organized to equip club coaches, Medical personnel, club management members, Security personnel as well as Laws of the Game.
The event was organized to sensitize all the Imo State FA affiliated clubs and various departments of the game ahead of the new season.
Declaring the seminar open, Hon Ogu described the event as an important one on pre season period ahead of the 2020/21 football season.
“As we all knoe, that sports is a unifying factor irrespective of tribe and language, football in particular is regarded as the king of sports globally, I commend Imo FA for organizing such an important seminar.
“This is programmed in order to keep the stakeholders like coached, team managers, administrators among others to refresh their memories and also be abreast of the modern day rules and techniques of the game as applied globally.
The Commissioner however urged the participants to make good use of the opportunity and improve their knowledge as he equally called for total adherence to NCDC protocols on COVID-19.
The auspicious event which took place at the board room of Imo FA in Dan Anyiam stadium also had in attendance some senior management staff of the Imo state Sports Commission as Mrs Henrietta represented the Director of Sports, Imo Sports Commission, Mrs Chizotam Aretola.
Some of the Resource persons include;
1. Sir Emma Ochiagha – (Administration/Organizing).
2. Chief Teddy Isiadinso (Security).
3. Coach Ere Dokubor. (Laws of the Game).
4. Dr Andy Ezimefule (Medical) and
5. Mr Sunny N. Opara (Organising)
The seminar was heavily attended by many clubs affiliated to the FA including representatives of Heartland FC, Elkanah Onyeali FC among others.
