Oru East IMC Boss, Ogbonna Reels Out Scorecard
•Pencils Down “3R Govt” Vision
As part of his efforts to further embrace all and keep them abreast of “how far; how well” within his last 6 months in office, the IMC Chairman of Oru-East LGA, Hon. Nze Nyerere Ogbonna, has presented his scorecard to the people of Oru-East LGA.
At the Oru-East Council’s Headquarters, Omuma, Hon. Ogbonna, alongside his IMC members, the SAs, SSAs and all other appointees of the Imo State Government; various APC Leaders and Party faithfuls, said briefed that his administration has been able to make a very tremendous steps/marks to ensuring that the “Shared Prosperity” government of His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodinma, the Executive Governor of Imo State, carried everybody along in the scheme of things, adding that he assumed office as the IMC Chairman of Oru-East LGA in the month of April-2020, though relatively bedeviled with the global COVID-19 Pandemic challenges, though unperturbed but somewhat determined to repositioning Oru-East LGA to the later.
He noted that, he was able to surmount all other perceived inadequacies and challenges, whence he deployed all possible progressive ways to ensure that Oru East LGA recorded no case(s) of COVID-19 and, any related global pandemic.
Hon. Ogbonna further revealed that he and wife, Ogechi Ogbonna, had productively trained over 500 Youths of Oru-East LGA on different skills – whose date of graduation and empowerments was yet undetermined though bid for anytime soon.
He further stated that his relationship with all the staff of the Council have been cordial, noting that their welfare have been extantly established and taken care of.
Ogbonna also noted that his administration, sometime ago, embarked on what he tagged “ORU-EAST COMMUNITY TOURS” to ascertain their first-hand priority needs, for which their reports have been forwarded to the Imo State Government for a prompt action.
On security situation in Oru-East LGA, Hon. Ogbonna noted that all Communities in Oru-East LGA have been so peaceful and supportive to the policies and programmes of the present Imo State Government, while commending the Youths, Traditional Rulers, political leaders, Party faithfuls, wellwishers, and all the security operatives in Oru-East LGA, for their massive commitments to service, within the last 6 months.
“My People, I was inaugurated as your IMC Chairman in the month of April, 2020. Our Council Secretariat was, no doubt, a shadow of itself. So, I did all I could to revive it. You can also attest to the fact that, we presently have a conducive environment in the Council; I restored a steady water-supply; a stand-by electricity supply; and I have revamped the agricultural sector in the Council. There are many other things too numerous to mention. But, then, we have not done much! I look forward to making thousands of our youths self-reliant; and to accomplish alot for all communities in Oru-East LGA”. I urge all of us to remain resolute and supportive to Gov. Uzodinma’s Administration. Our Governor means well”, Hon. Nze Nyerere Ogbonna said.
About 5 notable political loyalists to the 3R Government, namely: Hon. Ifeanyi Nnaoma, Hon. Tony Ohanenye, Hon. Eugene Ezeoba, Hon. Harry Ihebinike, and Hon. Chimaraoke Okoro, and their loyalists, were publicly inducted and advised to help build a stronger peace, unity and progress of APC in Oru-East LGA.
At the said Oru-East Maiden “Shared Prosperity Government” cum Stakeholders’ meeting, the first Democratically Elected Executive Chairman of Oru-East LGA (thus after the last Nigeria’s Military Regime), Hon. Chief Emmanuel Ogbenta (Nmajiogu) and Deputy, Chief Harry Ihebinike; as well as a one-time Executive Chairman of Oru-East LGA, Chief Barr. Fisher Ezeukwu, now a Commissioner under ISIEC; the member representing Oru-East State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Owerri, Hon. Evang. Chiagozie Nwaneri, as well as the SSAs to the Imo State Governor on Rural Projects, Hon. Chief Ifeanyi Oruh; Hon. Chief Tony Akuneme, InfoTech; Hon. Ikechukwu Eke, Hospitality and Tourism; and Hon. Mrs. Ben Igwe, Women Development, respectively, separately spoke at length.
Others were: Commissioners in the ISOPADEC, Hon. Chief Nkenna Nzeruo and Chief Vincent Odih, the Chairman of APC in Oru East LGA, Hon. Chief Benard Nwanaña, all other Exco-members of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Oru East LGA; Party Leaders and supporters, as well as the IMC members of Oru-East LGA, were all in attendance at the ceremony.
A minute Silence was accorded to a departed hero in Oru-East politics, the former Transition Committee Chairman of Oru-East LGA, Late Chief T. Anyamaele (from Omuma), whose funeral Service has been slated for this November.
All the attendees pledged their unalloyed support to the Government of the day to enable it thrive.
