The zonal league stages of the Imo football League gradually draws to an end as most Local government Areas fight to make the 2nd stage of the competition which is expected to see two teams each qualify from each group to compete at the 2nd and final stage of the greatest league in Imo.
In group a, the table topers, Mbaitoli will today at Ohubah take on the second placed team, Ohaji Egbema in a battle of who finishes top at the groups table.
Speaking to ‘Imo Trumpeta’ Eng, Osita Anyimba the financer of the high riding Mbaitoli team which has not lost any match since last year, said that this is his own little way of joining hands with the Mbaitoli Local government Chairman (T.C) and the Governor of the State, Chief Rochas Okorocha to give hope to the youths and making sure that they are meaningfully engaged and stay away from all kinds of social vices.
The son of the late Owner of Elemats Football club of Ubomiri in the late 70’s and 80’s has promised to continue from were his father stopped as the philanthropic love for football runs in the family. He also said the rejuvenated Elemats F.C was narrowly edged out in the current Imo FA Cup by Ansfed F.C of Orlu, but promised that his team will make up their lose in the FA Cup with the up coming state League.
Meanwhile, Osita also told ‘Imo Trumpeta’ that the Mbaitoli team are not afraid of were they are playing as their record states, no loss recorded since the start of the Imo League home and AWAY. He said that the technical team and the players have received every thing they need to come out unscattered from Ohaji/Egbema this Friday.
