Okigwe zone APC Senate Ticket: Uzodinma’s Camp, Okorocha’s Group Lock Horns

Except the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the national level intervens, a clash of interest that may likely rock the party is imminent in the Imo State chapter of the party.
The uneasy calm reigning in the party in Imo is about to degenerate to a war fare following contention by the two warring faction concerning who is entitled to organize the APC senate Primaries for Okigwe zone.
Since the death of the late Senator Ben Uwajumogu who represented the zone created vacancy, aspirants from various political camps have been warning up. Not less 12 persons are involved in the struggle for who takes the position.
Information available to Trumpeta has it that while the caretaker Exco led by Prince Marcelinus Nlemigbo is insisting on working with the national party to handle the exercise,  the opposing faction led by Daniel Nwafor thinks otherwise.
While Nlemigbo enjoys the support of Uzodinma, Nwafor is a product of former governor, Rochas Okorocha.
At a recent meeting in Owerri, where APC chieftains in the state were gathered to discuss the affairs of the party, the leadership of Nlemigbo was duly recognized even as others were absent.
However, in a counter move, those loyal to Senator Okorocha are unrelenting as they claim Nwafor has the powers to conduct the primaries.
The group’s spokesperson in a statement issued in Owerri warned aspirants to avoid having any dealings with any other Exco.
According to the group, Nwafor is the authentic state Exco to organize the primaries. This is in contrast to the Uzodinma backed Exco position.
Trumpeta was informed that the two factions are likely to lock horns over who is entitled to be in charge for the primaries.
