The senate committee on education has commended the management and staff of Federal Polytechnic Nekede for working in tandem with the transformational agenda of the federal government. The committee chairman, Senator Uche chukwumereije who made the statement when the committee visited the school as part of their oversight function, he gave kudos to the rector, Dr Mrs Celestina Njoku, describing her as an efficient administrator who has used sound initiative to run the school. The senator from Abia State commended the rector for judicious use of funds to improve infrastructure and the standard of the school.
The senate committee on education inspected laudable projects executed by Dr Mrs Njouku which include, past time school building, 500 capacity lecture theatre and other infrastructure put in place for conducive learning. Reacting, the rector of the school, Dr Mrs C Njoku, thanked the committee members for coming, assuring them that they will not rest in their efforts to give students and staff an new lease of life. She noted that education is a beautiful experience and that her administration is making every effort at making it pleasurable by putting all the necessary infrastructures that will encourage sound learning and that is capable of producing sound and qualitative graduates that can compete favourably any where in the world. She called on the senate committee on education to always come to their aid any time they are needed. She also appreciated them for all the support the Federal Polytechnic Nekede has received from the senate.
One will recall that before now, it was seen as a privilege for a staff of Poly Nekede to have an office. Accommodation for lecturers and non academic staffs were mere wishful thinking. Today, the staffs of the institution enjoy well furnished office accommodation as a right, courtesy of the dexterity and vision of the dynamic, mother figure rector, Dr Mrs Njoku.
It was the practice in the past for students to be receiving lectures under canopies and in makes shift classrooms. Today there are modern class room blocks, world class lecture theatres with permanent seats that make learning exciting at Federal Poly. Departmental and faculty offices have been upgraded to an international standard. More are still been done in the area of infrastructure on daily basis
The staff school of Federal poly has been part of the rebranding process the school has been moved to a better and more conducive place for improved learning. It must be put in perspective that it is the present administration that have reinvented the wheel, made the smart choices and inculcated the efficient management culture and devised policy measure that have provided class rooms, lecture theatres, staff offices and conducive learning environment at Federal Polytechnic Nekede..
