Heartland Fc midfield maestro, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu (Aka Mosquito) has declared himself fit enough to confrontBrazilat the Samsung Beach Soccer International Cup inDubai, UAE this month.
Ibenegbu who stated that the group which pits Nigeria’s super sand Eagles in Group B alongside four-time world champions, Brazil, Japan and Switzerland is tough, but believes they now have the mental ability to contain what the opposition can offer.
“It’s a tough group when you look at the teams drawn with us. Yes we’ve playedBrazilthree times and we succeeded in defeating them last year inLagosduring the Copa Lagos after coming close to doing so at the last world cup. But they still remain a formidable force in beach soccer whether we like it or not.
“As forSwitzerlandandJapan, they are emerging forces and we cannot afford to overate ourselves when we face them. I know the game has grown strongly inSwitzerlandand it is same forJapanso we expect a tough outing inDubai,” Ibenegbu expressed.
The hard fighting midfielder, who has recovered from a typhoid fever he suffered last week, has since teamed up with Adamu Audu Ejor’s squad in their Badagry camp last Thursday.
The Eight-Nation Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental cup inDubaiis expected to hold between October 30 and November 3.
