The Managing Director of Wall House Ltd, Bar Martin Agba, a company that signed to supply Caterpillars to the Government of Imo State during the seven months administration of Governor Emeka Ihedioha, has raised alarm that there is a plot to indict the company and accuse it of not supplying the equipment agreed in the contract paper.
Speaking to Journalists, Bar Agba said that of the Twenty Seven Units of Caterpillars Wall House Ltd signed to supply to Imo Government, the company had delivered seventeen (17) Units of Caterpillars to Imo State Government, remaining Ten Units before the Coronavirus lockdown delayed the supply of the remaining Ten.
“We have supplied Seventeen Caterpillars in number; Ten Graders and Seven Pay Loaders, remaining Ten, which are already in Lagos, waiting for transportation to Imo State before the Coronavirus lock down set in” Bar Agba said.
He maintained that immediately the lockdown is relaxed, Wall House Ltd will supply the remaining ten.
He maintained that Wall House Ltd had received Nine Hundred Forty Five Million Naira only N945m, and not N1.215B as alleged by the Governor Hope Uzodinma’s administration in Imo State.
“On March 24, 2020, the Chairman of Wall House handed the seventeen caterpillars to the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie in the presence of the Special Adviser SA to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mrs Ruby Emele on the instruction of the Governor at Heroes Square, Owerri. Therefore it is remaining the other Ten Caterpillars which are ready waiting in Lagos for transportation to Imo” he said.
The Managing Director stressed that although the contract was signed during the Ihedioha administration, but the equipment do not belong to Ihedioha, but to Imo State Government, hence they handed the machines to the new Government in the State.
He said the machines were bought for massive road rehabilitations in the Twenty Seven Local Government Areas in Imo State, championed by the former administration of Emeka Ihedioha.
Meanwhile, in a press conference addressed by the Imo State Commissioner for Information and strategy, Hon Mbadiwe Emelumbe, he said the Uzodinma administration, was probing the Ihedioha regime, on how much that entered the Local Government Accounts and how they were spent during that period.
Emelumba mentioned Wall House Ltd as one of the Companies the Ihedioha administration awarded contracts to supply machines to Imo Local Governments, saying that they could not supply the caterpillars.
“We have all the contract papers which followed due process, and we have supplied the machines to the present Government. What is remaining is the ten units, which are already in Lagos, and would be supplied to Imo State immediately the lockdown is relaxed” Agba said.
However, our efforts to reach to the Chief of Staff, Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie to deny or acknowledge receiving the Seventeen machines from Wall House on the date stated failed as he could not pick his phone after our repeated calls.
When Trumpeta visited the office of the SA to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mrs Ruby Emele she was said to be attending an Emergency Meeting with the Governor in Government House, Owerri.
