The Appeal Court sitting in Owerri, Imo state will this morning rule on the application filed by the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, and its candidate Owelle Rocha Okorocha, praying the court to throw away the request from Dr Ikedi Ohakim and Peoples Democratic Party PDP, to be joined in the suit instituted against Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC by Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, over the 2011 Imo Governorship Supplementary election.
Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, the candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN in the said election had gone to Court of Appeal to challenge the result of the election, by INEC, which Araraume said is against the tenets of the Electoral Act and Nigerian Constitution.
APGA and Okorocha had requested to be joined in the suit as interested parties, and were granted the relief.
Subsequently, PDP and Ohakim asked to be joined too, as interested parties.
However, the ruling of the application this morning will determine how far the suit filed by Araraume will go.
As usual, it is expected that members of the various political parties, namely ACN, PDP and APGA will storm the premises of theAppeal Courtlocated at Okigwe road, Owerri to see outcome of the ruling.
