ORU EAST TC CHAIRMAN ASSURES OF GOOD GOVERNANCE


The newly sworn-in Transition Committee Chairman of Oru East LGA, Nze Nyerere Ogbonna has assured the people of his area of good governance. He stated this on Friday April 3,2020, at the council headquarters Omuma during his  official introduction to the staff and management of  the council by the Director of Administration and General Services DAGS, Mr Eustace  Chidi Okere. He promised to deliver the dividends of democracy and solicited for the support and cooperation of the staff of the Local government.
He called on the people of the area to support the policies and programmes of the governor, especially the 3R Mantra of Recover, Reconstruct and Rehabilitate, stressing that the governor means well for the state. He posited that in no distant time, doubting Thomases in the state will have course to believe. He assured of harmonious relationship to exist between him and his workers and promised to carry everybody along. He however thanked God for elevating him and also the state governor, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma for giving him the opportunity to serve his people.
In his remarks, the Director of Administration and General Services, Dr Chidi Okere assured the Chairman of their support, adding that he has the best hands in administration and that the first Lady of the Local Government is their staff and an insider.
He urged him to always get close to the governor and seemingly hinted him that his task are enormous. The DAGS appealed to the number one citizen of the LGA  to always protect the workers of the council against external influence and assured him of their unalloyed support and cooperation.
Contributing, a former TC Chairman of the LGA who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, Barr. Obinna Amagwula urged him to take workers welfare as his major priority, pointing out that he is the luckiest Chairman as the LGA has never had a governor before. He admonished him to make humility his watch word and called on all to join hands to support him and the governor.
Also speaking, the Chairman of APC Oru East LGA, Nze Bennard Nwanaaha said that there is no other party in Oru East except APC. He disclosed that the party is open to those who may wish to return back. He thanked God who made it possible and the governor.
Lending his voice, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Chief Tony Akuneme opined that Nyerere’s appointment is putting a round peg in a round hole and expressed confidence in his administrative ingenuity.
Concluding, the representative of the governor and one of his Special Advisers, Hon Ifeanyi Oru thanked APC members in the Local Government. He noted that everybody worked towards the success of the party, but added that all must not get appointment at the same time. He enjoined all those who have gotten appointment to carry others along and called on the people to support the Chairman, stressing that with their support he is going to do well.
The governor’s representative warned against gossip and pull-him-down syndrome. He expressed satisfaction on the choice of Nyerere and opined that if the workers do well, the Chairman will do well too.
The member representing Oru East in the House of Assembly was represented by Hon Obioha Oddessey.
The event was witnessed by stakeholders of the Local Government too numerous to mention, including some of the political appointees. Amongst they were Elder Alloysius Nnawugo,Nze Nnamdi Onyeka, HRH Eze Barr.Christain Amukamara ,HRH Eze Uzodinma Ononenyi of  Omuma. Chief Thaddeus Ogbonna,Dr Chieme Chukwudoruo,Cpt.Tony Enoch,Hon.Nkenna Nzeruo,the DPO CSP .Danjuma,Nze Nick Ndedigwe, ward leaders and their executives, APC Stakeholders in the Local Government  amongst others.
