The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Quality Life Foundation and an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Ihitte clan in Ihitte/Uboma LGA, of lmo State, Mr lkenna lbezim (Quality) in conjunction with other party leaders of the clan has applauded the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma for appointing their illustrious sons and daughters into his new ‘Prosperity Government’, even as the leaders declared that the people of Ihitte clan and Ihitte/Uboma as a whole are in jubilant mood given the honour done them by the Governor, asserting that there are no plans by any sane indigenes of the area to revolt against the Governor’s honest decision.
According to Ihitte clan APC Chieftains, the Governor’s mode of appointment as reflected in Ihitte/Uboma Council area, was practically correct, stating that, there should be no opposition to Senator Hope Uzodinma’s appointment of his loyalists, who were instrumental to his electoral victory in the 2019 Governorship election in the State from Ihitte/Uboma.They reasoned that the clan from which the Governor chose his appointees should not be seen as a reason to revolt, describing the sentiment shared by an individual from Ihitte divide of the Council area as unsolicited and uncalled for, stressing that, it did not in any manner represent the position of the Ihitte clan APC leaders.
The leaders condemned in strong terms, the attempt by an individual to whip up sentiments aimed at portraying the new Government of Governor Uzodinma in bad light, asserting that whether an Ihitte or Uboma sons and daughters are recognized by Governor Uzodinma’s Government, according to them, all are for the interest of Ihitte/Uboma Council area, enjoining individuals who were not favoured in the early appointments to rather than agitate for war, exercise patience and work with those already appointed for the overall good of Ihitte/Uboma.
The leaders explained that though, out of the strategic appointments made by the Governor drawn from Ihitte/Uboma viz, Commissioner for Special Project, Hon Simon Ebegbulem,Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Power, Hon Sam Nwire and the newly appointed TC Chairman, Hon Chike Olemgbe are all from Uboma, while only Hon Blessing Nwoba (LadyB)is from Ihitte, according to them, such favours are always at Governor’s discretion, which they argued are always based on choice and never on equation balancing, as the sponsor of the said publication insinuated.
The Chieftains further explained that it is only elective positions that were supposed to be considered for balancing between Ihitte and Uboma clans , even as they held that given the Governor’s quantum recognition of Ihitte/Uboma sons and daughters in his new cabinet, no right thinking persons from either divides of the Council area would raise eyebrows over Governor’s decision.
They used the medium to express their hearty congratulations to the new appointees on their deserving appointments, even as they prayed God to grant their sons and daughter wisdom to serve the people in their various capacities as delegated by the Governor.
